Save the Date – Oct. 26 – Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff Station Unveils DUI Mobile Unit

Save the date October 26, 2012 at 10:00 AM, at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriffs Station, for the unveiling of the new Sheriff’s Department DUI Mobile Unit funded by Los Angeles County Third District Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky. Supervisor Yaroslavsky, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Senator Fran Pavley, and the California Highway Patrol, will be participating in the press conference. This fully equipped mobile enforcement vehicle will serve the Third District Santa Monica Mountains communities as an offsite unit for DUI checkpoints with screening, sobriety tests and collection and retention of evidence, as well as being able to be activated as an Incident Command for sting operations, or Disaster Communications during emergencies.

Tragedy. We unexpectedly lose our John Low…

Shock and dismay.
 
John Low, the past president of the Las Virgenes Homeowners Federation unexpectedly lost his life, late Friday night.
 
John was a long time resident and activist of the mountain community of Monte Nido. LVHF will be paying tribute to John at our Sept. 19 meeting…more to come on this in our upcoming Newsletter. We share his wife Deborah’s grief and offer our sincere condolences to his family…we are all heartbroken.

The facts constituting the necessity are: In order to ensure that the Los Angeles Regional Interoperable Communications System (LA-RICS) is able to meet strict deadlines that are required to access millions of dollars in federal grants that have been awarded to the LA-RICS, it is necessary that this act take effect immediately.”
