Supervisor Yaroslavsky Named “Man of Hollywood”

Hooray for Hollywood!

Hollywood Business & Professional Women (BPW) named Third District Supervisor, Zev Yaroslavsky, as their Man of Hollywood.

Marjory Hopper, president of the BPW, welcomed guests on Saturday, September 21st, at a special awards luncheon at the Loews Hollywood Hotel.

Leron Gubler, Executive Director of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, presented the award to Supervisor Yaroslavsky.

Zev was elected to the Board of Supervisors in 1994 and has a constituency of two million residents. He previously served on the Los Angeles City Council from 1975-1994. The Hollywood Business & Professional Women took pride in honoring him because as Third District Supervisor he has been a leader on fiscal, health care, transportation, cultural and environmental issues. He led the effort to rebuild and modernize the Hollywood Bowl amphitheater and was instrumental in the development of the Walt Disney Concert Hall, and has helped fund major investments in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and Natural History.

Supervisor Yaroslavsky gave a very eloquent and passionate speech about his commitment to public service and the homeless.
