Measure N was resoundingly defeated by Calabasas voters – as of March 10, NO on Measure N had garnered 78.17% of the vote, and YES 21.83%.

This Measure was not about affordable housing; it was about a billion-dollar real estate investment company, AvalonBay, manufacturing its own affordable housing crisis to enable themselves to build 161 new market rate units — when they were entitled to none. Further, it was a precedent setting scheme that would have bypassed public input and the Planning Commission process entirely. Sadly, developers like AvalonBay utilizing deceitful affordable housing tactics for profit, hurt the very people who do need help and affordable housing.
